Benefits

The TRS ActiveCare logo features an apple and the text 'TRS ActiveCare'.

New Home ISD partners with TRS-Active Care – the statewide health benefits program administered by the Teacher Retirement System of Texas – to provide comprehensive medical coverage for eligible employees. Through TRS-ActiveCare, staff can choose from multiple plan options that include medical, prescription, and telehealth benefits. For eligibility, rates, and enrollment windows (including annual open enrollment), please contact Stina Nieman at (806) 924-7543.

NHISD Compensation

New Home ISD invests in great teaching. We pay $2,500 above the Texas state base for teachers, and through the HB 2 Teacher Retention Allotment for small districts, eligible teachers receive $4,000 (3–4 years of experience) or $8,000 (5+ years of experience). Amounts reflect the current year and are subject to state funding, eligibility requirements, and board approval. For additional details, please contact Stina Nieman at snieman@newhomeisd.net or (806) 924-7543.
