Hello! My name is Kaylie Hix, and I am thrilled to serve as the Assistant Principal at New Home Elementary. I bring more than 12 years of experience in education, having taught middle school math and science and high school science in school districts ranging from 1A to 4A. I also served as an Academic Dean, where I developed a passion for supporting student success, fostering teacher growth, and building strong school communities.
My husband and I are proud parents of four amazing children. Two are currently in college, and our two younger children will soon be joining the Leopard family. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors fishing and camping, and you'll often find us playing anything Mario-related!
I was drawn to New Home ISD because of its strong sense of community and unwavering commitment to student success, and I am honored to be part of the Leopard family. I look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff to make this a fantastic year of learning, growth, and success.
Go Leopards!
As New Home Elementary School prepares for the upcoming school year, we are also updating our instructional plans.
2026 – 2027 Instructional Plans will be posted no later than August 19, 2026.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS are in order for our littlest Leopards who completed at the UIL Academic meet in New Deal yesterday! Our Elementary School Leopards won the entire meet with a team score of 676.5 points and captured multiple 1st - 6th place finishes both individually and as teams.
Thank you to our students for putting in the extra work to represent New Home so well. Thank you to our Elementary School staff for the countless hours of coaching and mentoring our kids. And thank you to our parents for your support and time spent at home helping to ensure our Leopards did their best. It truly takes a village and New Home ISD is blessed with the absolute best!
Congratulations again to all our Leopards and the New Home Elementary School staff!
