Selfless Sacrifice & Service

Last week, Annie Watson had the opportunity to share with Ms. Chapman’s classes about her experience completing Basic Combat Training through the Army Reserves Split Training Option this summer.

Annie will complete her Advanced Individual Training (AIT) next summer while finishing her senior year at New Home High School and graduating in 2028. She made the decision to join the Army Reserves because she wanted to serve her country and give of herself for something bigger than herself. At the same time, Annie is pursuing the Health Professions Scholarship Program, with the goal of graduating from medical school debt-free and ultimately becoming a surgeon.

What stands out most is Annie’s willingness to serve and sacrifice now while working toward a future dedicated to serving others. That kind of selflessness, discipline, and commitment is something worth celebrating.

Annie, thank you for sharing your story with our students and for being a wonderful example of what it means to lead through service. New Home ISD is incredibly proud of you!
