Celebrating our Champions Safely

We love our STATE CHAMPIONSHIP signs, and we love the students and staff who made those signs possible even more! Our students and coaches have accomplished incredible things, and we will always love celebrating their successes and creating lasting memories for our community.

We also want to say thank you to those who have reached out with concerns about the placement of the signs near the corner of our secondary campus. We appreciate you looking out for our students, staff, and community. Safety is always a priority at New Home ISD, and we would never intentionally create a situation that could compromise the safety of anyone traveling through or around our campus.

We have taken your concerns seriously and have reached out to the Lubbock Director at the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). We have provided pictures of the area and have also asked if someone can come out and take a closer look at the placement of the signs and the surrounding area.

So, if you see someone on District property taking measurements, looking at sight lines, or “triangulating” the area, that’s what’s going on! We are working to make sure we can proudly celebrate our championships while also ensuring the area is as safe as possible.

Thank you for your patience as we wait on TxDOT to get out here, and thank you to everyone who helps make New Home ISD and New Home, Texas, a safe and special place to call home.
