Real World Forensics in the Classroom

Yesterday, Chief Garza had the opportunity to bring Detective A. Duran from the Wolfforth Police Department into Mrs. Farris’s Forensics class!

Detective Duran spent five years as a Crime Scene Investigator with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office before becoming a detective with Wolfforth PD. He shared his experience and knowledge with the class, teaching students about crime scene sketching and the process of triangulating evidence to accurately document a crime scene.

It was a great opportunity for our students to see how what they’re learning in the classroom is being used in real-world law enforcement and investigations. The class did a great job engaging, asking questions, and getting involved!
