Dear New Home ISD Community,
New Home ISD understands that dependable after-school care is an important need for many of our families. As we continue working together, we are excited to expand this opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year to better meet the needs of our school community.Beginning this fall, after-school care - for students in grades PK - 6 - will continue to be housed on the New Home Elementary campus but directed by Michelle Rodriguez, a valued member of the New Home ISD family. While the program will be located on district property and led by a New Home ISD employee, it will operate independently of New Home ISD. The District will provide usage of the facility to Ms. Rodriguez and staff for a nominal fee of $100 per month to help offset facility use and normal wear and tear. The after-school care program will continue to offer the same affordable rates as in previous years:
-
$250 per child, per month
- Maximum family cost of $300 per month for families with multiple children enrolled
To better accommodate the schedules of our working families, the hours of operation have been expanded:
-
Monday - Thursday: 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Friday: 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
After-school care will be available only on days school is in session and will follow the New Home ISD instructional calendar. We are grateful to Ms. Michelle Rodriguez for her willingness to lead this program and provide a safe, caring, and engaging environment for our students after the school day ends. We are equally excited to offer our families an expanded option that is both affordable and convenient.Registration information and additional program details will be shared soon. We look forward to continuing to support our Leopard families both during and beyond the school day.
Sincerely,
Julia
